NASCAR at Sonoma 2016:
many | today | me

Posted on 06/26/2016 12:22:41 PM PDT by Zeneta

NASCAR Drivers are making right hand turns this weekend for the first time this season.

Should NASCAR add more "road courses" to their schedule?

Who's going to win this race?

I don’t think you have any idea or grasp of what race car drivers think about when they are on the track.

They are always on the verge of crashing.

If they were to even think about a mechanical failure, it would take speed away from them.

They are always looking forward.

They will beat the crap out of their cars to win.

Pushing the limits of what their machines will give them.

To second guess our equipment’s ability to keep up with your desire to win puts you at the end of the pact.

Neither do I.

Especially Lagono and BK.

What I love is racing and the mentality of race car drivers.

The pure and raw passion to win.

While at times it may seem as they are just going through the motions in order to put on a show, there are those other times when their desire to win is on full display.

The driver, that driver’s mind says “damn the torpedoes”, I’m going to win this thing no matter what it takes.

I will win this race because I can.

I don’t care if I crash or die in the process.

This is not a show.

This is life.

Crash or die.

This is the great American spirit.

Push the limits of disaster while most or many tell you to ease up, take care of your equipment, so that you will be alive in the end.

They will tell you that you can run the race and will be happy to finish somewhere in the middle of the pact. And you’ll make a good living in the process.

Don’t go so fast, you might break something.

I say, Damn the torpedoes !!!

“I can’t watch. No cable. I like road courses. I want at least one dirt track in the schedule. For plate tracks, they should run unrestricted engine with stock sheet metal.”

You know, I like your idea; a dirt track race. Maybe bring back the old Daytona track layout that was partially on the beach. Anyway, something a little different would be good for the sport I think.

I had Tony in the top three going into this race.

He’s found his fire to drive for the win again.

There something nice to be said about having a comfortable chair, the refrigerator and the bathroom close by, isn’t there?
