The Romans sometimes campaigned further north in Scotland but did not manage to conquer that area. It sounds like this loot is from later.
I've been to Aberdeen, SD, but not to Aberdeen, Scotland. Forced to choose I think I would prefer to live in the Scottish city.
Aberdeen is a lovely stone built city. Sitting pretty on the wealth of the oil industry.
To far North for my liking, especially in Winter.
