Gun purchasing strategy considering possibility of a Hillary victory.

Posted on 06/16/2016 5:52:45 AM PDT by baltimorepoet

I have had a long-time list of weapons to be purchased, basically for household of 6.

I have 3 AR15's, 3 AK47's, 1 Glock 17, 1 Mossberg 500, 1 Hipoint 9mm carbine, 1 Keltec Sub2000 9mm carbine, a FNS SCAR-17(.308), a DPMS LR-308, and a Ruger 10/22 Takedown(22LR).

This is considering the possibility of a Hillary victory in November and a potential gun ban...

Possible, but also likely to create a serious backlash, if not an outright civil war or series of political assassinations.

I’m not sure they are THAT dumb, just evil.

“I’d consider not posting what you already have. Probably not the time to be telling everyone you are as much as a threat as radical islam.”

I certainly agree with that. These posters have just announced to the DHS, NSA, FBI and probably Putin what they have and what they intend to purchase, much less an anti-government and pro-gun attitude. Does anyone seriously think they don’t watch these posts, and that there are no “lists”?

I’ve often wondered, if you have a whole warehouse full of top quality firearms and ammo stacked to the ceiling, how many triggers can one person pull at any given instant? Also, will you be near your stash at exactly the right time, or only those you can carry concealed?

If a serious attack comes, your bunker will be merely another target to be taken out in five minutes. In my opinion it’s better to be REALLY GOOD with one or two weapons, stash a lot of ammo in different places and meld into the background of the crowd. No matter how many weapons you have, nor how sophisticated they may be, someone who is an expert with a scope-mounted 1896 Swedish Mauser can take you out at half a mile with one shot.

“It’s a lot harder for them to take what I already own than it is for them to prevent me from buying it in the first place.”

- Unknown FReeper, a few weeks ago

Yes, production of guns and ammunition needs to go into 24/7 overdrive and stay there, no matter who wins. Our society needs to be so heavily armed that Federal troops will mutiny or desert rather than carry out orders to confiscate.

You are set up very nicely! I’m sure there are many reading this thread with a bit of envy, myself included. You certainly don’t fit the stereotype of the ‘starving poet’, lol! If it’s within your financial means, and there are no laws in your area preventing you from doing so, you may want to look into obtaining some NFA items such as a select fire lower and some cans to place on some of your collection.

As a somewhat related thought, a person may be sitting on a collection of hundreds of firearms, but they can only enjoy/use one at a time (well, perhaps some tier 1 operators can effectively shoot 2 at a time). Plus, if a person has to bug out, they’re most likely only going to bring one rifle and a pistol or two with them. Becoming very proficient in using that one rifle trumps being moderate with many. As an example, I have a friend who has been a rancher all his life and is now in his 80’s. He’s had a number of various rifles through his life, but his go-to and go everywhere rifle is an old beat up lever action he’s had since being a teenager. A few years back a woman moved nearby from a city and brought her 3 city dogs with her. It was calving time and her dogs thought it great fun to get out into his herd of cattle and chase them. Well, we were out near the herd one day and those three dogs showed up and started chasing the herd that now had day old, and even a few hours old calves in it. My friend quietly went to his pickup, grabbed that old lever action rifle, levered a round into the chamber, took aim at one of the running dogs (right in the herd) and dropped that running dog at about 175 yards. The point being, in a combat situation, that old rancher and his lever action rifle would be far superior to a person with a modern semi-auto rifle with all the bells and whistles but wasn’t very good at using it.

BTW, the city lady put up reward posters everywhere looking for her missing dog. The rancher saw one, went to her house, and told her he had shot her dog and why. Needless to say, she didn’t give him the reward, gave up ‘country living’, and moved back to the city shortly thereafter.

Exactly my thought - buy ammo, it will be restricted. Don’t buy any huge quantity in one lot. Case of 500 is fine, ten cases of 500 will get you on the watch list. It takes time to build an arsenal. Buy from neighbors, friends, family.

To your question, a shotgun for home defense, a 22 (or even a good spring-air gun), a HP rifle for hunting (that would be your .308) and a handgun for travel. If I was going to put them in some sort of order, one gun at a time, for one household ...

If you want a 223, get a Mini-14 or similar. It's not a "scary looking gun." All of them will be banned eventually. Probably not in your lifetime, but almost certainly within a 100 years.

If you are a law-abiding citizen and don’t live on a lake, don’t spend a lot of money if you think Hillary will win. That’s my thought.

You saw where Jeh Johnson could not name a single gun law that would have prevented Orlando? He’s a DemocRat and so he’s a congenital liar. He’s hiding the fact that he and the rest of the Dims believe confiscation and house-to-house searches of gun owners will be the magic answer. Law abiding citizens will turn their guns in, like Australia and Britain, he thinks. The home searches will get more of them, plus they get to kill any “illegal gun” owner who “resists.”

Unless you are willing to turn in the guns you are about to spend money on, or are will to be killed for your God-given right to have them, save your money. It’s too late.

And they can easily identify gun owners from the federal records and from things posted on the Internet. At this point, even if you live in a free state where private sales have no paperwork, you have just put yourself on the DemocRats’ kill list. Kulaks get treated like Kulaks, you know.

If you think you will resist tyranny and die for your beliefs, you are still wasting money. You need one or two identical pistols and one semi-auto rifle. Get at least ten spare magazine for each one. Then buy lots of ammo for practice and sign up for defense training on the handgun and rifle.

Sorry if my tone is abrupt. We are very late in the history of the Republic. None of us can afford to waste time or money.

- - Possibly you might find a conservative federal judge who would put the breaks on it for longer. --

No way. There are ZERO judges who favor a powerful public. Judges are a key part of diarming the public, one gunowner at a time. If you are ever accused of a crime, the court will order your arms to be confiscated. Rules are different for the privileged class, of course.

Oh, I was only referring to the stuff I wanted to get, not what I already have.

(I already have 2 .308, 3 AR15, 3 AK47, 1 shotgun, 2 PC carbines, 1 22 LR, Glock 17)

Nope. Just non-compliance. See the CT and NY registration laws.

The people of California aren't revolting just because the ones in San Diego aren't allowed to carry. The people in Massachusetts didn't revolt when the "permit never expires" permits for possession, expired and they were made into criminals.

Home searches are going to be problematic for people who know how to manufacture claymores (re: Ragnar Benson) and rig them to blow when the front door gets kicked in.

Also problematic for people who have 9/10 of their weapons buried in PVC tubes on acres of land where there is countless metal cans and other metal objects buried in the soil to confound metal detectors and have a good hiding spot but easier to access for the other 1/10.

Other people might have cute home modifications, like trap doors in front of the front door, than trip when the front door is smashed in, and lead to a pit covered in metal spikes.

Any ideas for a Freeper with very little income in case this happens?

I’m thinking 1 rifle for long distance and 1 pistol for close range is about as minimal as I can cut it for arms...but which ones and how much ammo and how many mags/clips?

Key and strip ??? Cannot defend Motherland with Key and Strip.

REAL rifles have Tool in each crate of two cans. Tool can also be used on Enemies of Motherland !!

(grin)

And if you buy it by the can, and not the crate. . . a flat-blade screwdriver and hammer are the best way to open a can of 7.62x54r. . .

If it was only two things I’d go for a 9mm pistol like a Glock 17 or a Springfield XD... cost about $500.

For a rifle, maybe a Remington 700 in .308 for like $770. You can reach out further than an AR15 and take something out like a deer.

Ammo and mags, is always subject to debate.

I’ve heard that tagline before... it is a good one.

That is why in a hypothetical situation where I need to travel somewhere in a small gropu where open display of arms would be risky, and then come back, I’d carry both folding carbines and M9’s, that use the same mags.

I’d consider not posting what you already have.

I don't have to worry. Not any more. As a charter member of the FR Canoe Club . . .
