Old Fords are the best at price point.

My brother had a Grenada with a 302, 3 in the floor.

Black top on black with a black leather interior.

You'll never find one of those again.

Sort of along that line, if you could find a Fairmont or a Mercury Zephyr that would be a good start for a sleeper. The best part is, any aftermarket parts for a Fox-body Mustang will pretty much bolt right in, and there are TONS of aftermarket parts for Fox-body Mustangs.

And if you choose wisely, you can make a Fairmont lighter than a Mustang.

My dad bought a brand new one in ‘75 first year they came out.

Heavy car for the size but rode well. A little heavy on the gas too.
