You nailed it. Why the psychiatric community has opted out of looking at homosexuals as just another variation in life rather than a psychological problem is something I cannot understand. There is even an opposition to the religious community to help them spiritually. It this a devious method to cull the herd?

A doctor once told me that psychology and medicine are as subject to fashion trends as the clothing industry. Short skirts and LGBT enabling come into fashion and the psychologist must look favorably on both or be ostracized. For liking longer skirts there would be no penalty. But for advocating anything other than the current fashion in gay enabling might mean unemployment and inability to publish. Both mean death. But the employer or publisher can not face the militant blowback so they eliminate the cause, the unfashionable employee or author.

As hard as it seems to see from our perspective, fashions change. This too will probably pass, like knee pants and spats.
