Ok, here’s my conspiracy theory:
Take one hugely egotistical 56 year old man.
Have a disaster occur in the business he got rich in, vastly reducing his wealth almost overnight.
Indict him for fraud in a case in which he is very obviously guilty, and he knows it.
Put that multi-year legal case in front of him, a trial will destroy all his reputation and arrogance and most of what remains of his money, and followed up by a strong likelihood that he will also then be in prison until he’s about 70.
Put him in a fast and powerful automobile and see what happens.
Clearly aliens took control of the vehicle, no other plausible scenario.
