Hope you enjoy. "Moonraker"
music *ping*
Cheesy Bond movie, but good characters in Jaws and Dr. Goodhead! ;-)
She was amazing.
From Shirley to Madonna. Ugh.
I recall my parents had vinyl soundtracks for all of the Bassey-led Bond films. I used to listen to her constantly.
I think I preferred her “Goldfinger” the best. Followed by “The Man With the Golden Gun”.
That’s a beautiful song. The movie was horrible, but I loved that theme song and, of course, the Maurice Binder title sequence (though A View to a Kill was his best sequence).
Frank Sinatra was supposed to sing that at first from what I recall. I’m kind of happy that they went with Shirley Bassey though.
“The Man with the Golden Gun” was sung by Lulu if I’m not mistaken, although Dame Shirley Bassey may have covered it. Basseun still sounds great. Check out the YouTube of her covering Pink’s “Let’s Get this Party Started”. I think she did that for a music awards show.
I did NOT know that.
Wow. For decades I thought it was Shirley.
And now I know.
And knowing is half the battle.
Thanks.
I stopped watching pretty much after Connery.
I did like the new non-comedy, Casino Royale as I was an aficionado of the Fleming Books and It was a horrible thing that the broccoli franchise missed the first novel(because of ownership rights).
of course I read them 50+ years ago...my memory is getting a bit weak.
My hopes, before I pass this mortal coil....is for the current Broccoli owners to pass the rights on to the BBC and that the novels are turned into mini series that reflect the era in which they were written.
Moonraker being a V2 type rocket being tested in England a few years after WW2. also I miss SMERSH as the villains.
Nice.
Here’s Shelly Bassey singing ‘History Repeating’ with the Propellerhheads.
It’s very good.

Laughable plot but Jaws spoke.
What I found hard to understand even when I saw it as a teenager is how no one noticed a dormant space station until Drax and co. moved in.
That was Lulu?
Bassey’s were Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever,
and Moonraker.
