Saw this yesterday. Terrible.

Two hours of meaningless special effects, lame dialogue and a wandering plot. I loved the X-Men comics but these idiots don’t get it. They make the villains too powerful for the average characters (like Beast or Angel-—who they made a bad guy) to have a chance. They miss that the appeal of ALL Suoer hero groups was that to win they had to be INDIVIDUALS fighting together as a team.

Moreover with villains like Apocalypse, if he’s so powerful why does he need henchmen?

Geek chat time

In the Age of Apocalypse comic book story, Angel was turned into one of Apocalypses henchmen.

They do only win by working together using their individual powers

Apocalypse stated he could not be everywhere at once (hence his need for possessing Xavier) so his henchmen served two purposes: enforce Apocalypses will as ruler and cto protect him during his body transferrance

It’s too bad, but when there is no question about whether the good guys are going to win, a story loses its punch. Tension is an important element in a book or movie, regardless of the genre.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I always enjoy your perspective.
