May 22, 2016, as outlined in MUFON case 76537, in which an Illinois based witness had been commuting between locations near Spring Grove in McHenry County, Illinois. The event occurred at approximately 9:30 PM local time.
The observer reported seeing a large, triangular aircraft “at an estimated height of 200 feet above ground,” which the witness was able to drive close enough to nearly pass directly under it. The driver turned around and returned to the location, and over the course of one minute the aircraft began to execute an apparent banking turn, in which it angled one of its edges toward the ground as it continued to move slowly through the sky.
The Inquisitr website also reported on the incident, noting that, “The sightings have helped to sustain rumors in Pentagon black project conspiracy theory circles that the U.S. government is conducting a series of late-stage flight tests of a new generation of ‘black triangle’ stealth reconnaissance aircraft.”
Illinois has a history involving observation of large triangle aircraft like these, with one notable incident that occurred in St. Clair county, southwestern Illinois, on January 5, 2000. The incident began at around 4:00 AM, on the date in question, and involved police officers from multiple districts that were responding to the early morning observation of a similar large, slow-moving triangular aircraft. A lot of people are still active and driving around at 9:30 PM. Seems a little early in the evening to be risking exposure of an experiment aircraft.
I live in northwestern Illinois a d saw two stealth aircraft fly over for the first time last week.
A C-5 or B-2 flying at night can look a lot like a flying triangle due to the configuration of the lights. It’s around Scott AFB and the pilots might have been shooting an approach to keep their night-flying quals up to date.
Also, the 200 foot estimate on the altitude is a pretty shaky. It’s very difficult to judge the altitude of an object during the day, especially if you don’t know how big it is. It’s impossible to do at night without equipment or some type of reference points.
I’m not saying that this isn’t a valid UFO or stealth aircraft sighting. I’m just saying that they would need to rule out the more mundane things first.

Testing secret stealth aircraft over populated areas. . .yup. . .sounds like a plan to me. . .after all, with all the restricted airspace over Nevada and Groom Lake, and no population centers, makes no sense to test there. . .better test in IL.
Does sound far fetched. But still more likely than little green men,yes?
I’d say little green men more likely than the military flying classified platforms over population centers. . .but that’s just me. . .
There will be more and more reports of unidentified flying objects as drones become more popular.
