Now imagine the day all the EBT cards stop working from:
America being bankrupt
Cyber attack
Just plain bureaucratic incompetence
And when the system goes down, you won’t be able to call the po-lice. Call the po-lice. Call the po-lice- I’m sorry, it’s stuck in my head
Around a year ago, some computer error was giving people infinite balances on their cards, at a Wal Mart. It became an organized looting...people were piling up groceries in carts and taking them to the registers.
Wal Mart staff knew something was wrong, and they likely would not get compensated for all these EBT transactions. But they wisely continued to check people out for almost an hour, to avoid a riot and full scale looting of the store.
We had power outage in our area a couple of weeks ago. Took a couple of days to get all the computers reset once the power was restored. Cash only at all of the local businesses. Also affected all ATM’s. Day later AT&T cut a transmission cable while working on installing a new one so had to go through all of this again. Wally World parking lot was empty.
Stopped to get some gas. Couple of people at counter were counting out piles of change. One guy commented he had robbed his kid’s piggy bank because they had no other money in the house. Lots of people just have no cash stash any more.
Now imagine the day all the EBT cards stop working from:
America being bankrupt
Cyber attack
Just plain bureaucratic incompetence
Needed to be said again. Not plagiarism, just an homage.
