Trower's 'Day Dream' is one of my favorites. 'Bridge of Sighs' is sooooooooo dark and mello yet intense. James Dewar (I think his name was) was incredibly soulful. Dewar's replacement not too shabby either.

Billy Cox had quite a career

Amazing variety

But and Hendrix really mattered to us
Axis was the real deal for my LSD addled yute

I think Hendrix was peaking too that New Year’s Eve show

Anyhow I thought he meandered a bit much on Gypsys

Rainbow Bridge ......Miles and Cox served that album well too

I always wonder if Jimi lived, if we essentially would have gone Jazz, like Jeff Beck did.

The Humble Pie live album will always remain a favorite as will BOG and the Allman Brothers live. The Dominoes were not the same without Duane. That is a fact. The guitar interplay between Clapton and Allman was truly incredible and could never be replaced. Even so, the live Fillmore show was Clapton at the height of his virtuosity, before drugs and other problems began plaguing his life (what was it about Pattie Boyd anyway?).

Although not groundbreaking, it was Clapton at the top of his game and will remain one of the best live rock albums of all time. Of course, I also think Clapton's Rainbow Concert is another phenomenal live album so I may be more than a little biased.

Live at Leeds was packaged as if it were a bootleg.

I have never appreciated jams or guitar riffs like the kind on BoG album. Unparalleled. Jimi was definitely on his game that night. The following night at Fillmore (or was it previous?), not so much. Too much LSD maybe.

Often overlooked is the tremendous studio advances during that time and the incredible sound of Hendrix' albums. 'Electric LaDYLANd'(notice 'DYLAN'??) is mind-blowing. I have the UK-released double album with the naked women on it and a great photo of Hendrix inside. I'm keepin' that one!

No doubt about it. Electric Ladyland was a sonic masterpiece. Jimi and engineer Eddie Kramer broke ground into areas of aural manipulation that have rarely been touched on to this very day.
