“If you’re a graduate, you [should] want to go to college,”

Therein lies the problem with not only our education system, but our society.

70% of Americans do not have a college degree, nor will they ever. Yet, our schools are set up to focus on transitioning kids to college. Our jobs base is becoming more and more geared toward having a college degree.

We’re literally leaving 70% of our population out in the cold. A society can’t function like that, not for long.

agreed, and many of the 30% with college degrees have pretty worthless degress anyway.... little or no significant content

also, many jobs that require a B.A. are examples of creeping credentialism, since too often the jobs could be performed as well or better by people with no degree
