Interestingly, there's a SONAR tech in Pearl Harbor that listens to the movements of EVERY Chinese sub from the time it leaves port to the time it returns.
And pinpoints it's location.
They are that loud.

The US will still have to send out surveillance patrols to shadow the ChiCom subs and record their patrol routes. With the goal being that we know where their subs are most likely to be found. I read several years ago that “by the numbers” the Russia missile subs were most likely to be under the polar ice in the Bering sea or just to the east of Greenland sea ice.
