A paramedic has been accused of swiping James Gandolfinis $3,000 Rolex as he laid dying from a massive heart attack.
Claudio Bevilacqua, 43, allegedly stole the Submariner watch from The Sopranos star after he collapsed in the Boscolo Luxury Hotel Exedra in Rome during a family trip in June 2013, according to NBC News.
He was rushing Gandolfini to the hospital that night when the timepiece disappeared, though it is unclear if it vanished from his hotel room or while the actor was wearing it

It’s more likely the watch was removed when they got him in the bus and started wiring him up. It probably got tossed into a bag. And when it was found, they were already away from the hospital.
Paramedics see the crap side of the world. Stealing is not in their nature.
The Expedition is a tough watch and an excellent value
The GMT Master II is great for travel.
I’m with you on the Patek. I’ll likely never own one, either. I’d love a Nautilus. That’s closer to a true luxury watch than much of the rolex catalog.
Cool! It sounds like a Daytona or a Sea-Dweller. I love the stainless steel Daytona!
The Deep Sea Sea Dweller Blue is an awesome watch! Fairly large for a Rolex at 44mm. Too rich for my blood, though! It’s supposed to be able to withstand a depth of close to 4000 meters. Beautiful blue dial, too. I think it is promoted as the James Cameron model.
I’ve read about some of their high complication watches on ablogtowatch.com. they are extraordinary pieces of engineering and craftsmanship. I’d pay money just to see one assembled.
“I have a Roledex...Is that close????”
President Buckwheat: If you have a Roledex, you can keep your Roledex.
A friend of mine called me for help when her father dropped dead in the lobby of a bank while depositing a check. Someone stole the check from his hand. By the time we got to the hospital where he had been taken, her father was virtually buck naked. He HAD had on an expensive leather jacket and other clothing, but all was stolen by various EMT, hospital personnel, etc. Just disgusting.
A friend of mine lost her son in an automobile accident. He had just picked up some clothes from the dry cleaners. All the clothes were stolen as well as his money. Even his high school ring was taken from his finger. It was gone before he even got to the hospital.
True. I know a guy in Long Beach CA who is so precise with men’s hair that your hair will look good from the cut to when it’s hanging around your shoulders in 8 months or whenever. For real. And -— this is the part that is even harder to believe -— he is straight. Married with kids.
