Keep in mind that these accommodations are a palace, compared to what the workers typically live in at home.
The article makes a big deal about the bathrooms, not realizing that's a big improvement over "normal" in China. Toilet fixtures are common in the western world, but not in the third world.

This is the way I have always envisioned a properly functioning Congressional and Senate Dorm system working. Four to a room, bath down the hall, communal eating and six weeks a year in July and August to write a budget and GTHO and go home.
We make being a Government Apparatchik far too comfortable.
