Mom Tries to Surprise Daughter, Snaps Selfie in Wrong Bed

"I am in the wrong dorm omg," the mother tweeted after the mistake>/I>

A mother wanted to surprise her college-aged daughter after she traveled to her school to help her move out for the summer, so she snapped a selfie in what she thought was her daughter's bed.

But when Deeana Pilling, who flew from New York City to Utah last week for the surprise, texted her daughter the photo, she realized she had a mistake.

"Look where I am! Where are you?" Deeana texted daughter McKenna Pilling, a Utah State University student, after she sent her the selfie.

"Where's that?? I'm in my dorm. Please tell me you're not in someone else's dorm," McKenna texted back.

The dorm and the bed, it turns out, belonged to a friend of McKenna's who lives in the same building, Select/All reported.

“She came to surprise me from New York City to help clean out my dorm and apparently walked in the wrong dorm,” McKenna Pilling told Buzzfeed News. “No one was in there so she laid down for five minutes in the wrong bed and decided to send me a picture as a surprise.”

My sister did that once and was about to drive off right about when we both noticed the car seemed a lot cleaner inside and “since when do you wash out the ashtray???”, about simultaneous with the owners showing up too.

It was to damn funny, two champagne edition VW rabbits and the keys fit and started it. Turns out around 77/78 the average VW key would fit something like every 12th one made...

Tha daughter looks like Rapunzel with long wavy golden tresses. No where do they interview or identify the actual owner of that room. Wonder what they thought about “Mom” breaking in and taking a quick nap?

So that’s who that chick was. I was a bit surprised to find her in my dorm room but we had a great talk about polygamy.

For those wondering...
BTW, what is a sophisticated New York City girl doing in Utah of all places? It sounds like one of those reality shows.

The daughter is a looker.

Looks a lot like a young Holly Hunter. Hubba hubba.

Also reminds me of the girl from the tv show “My Two Dads”. Think her name is Stacy something.

When I was a kid, my parents had two Chevrolets that the same key would work with.

I used to drive a gray Mercury Sable. That car was so non-descript that I often would be trying to get into Taurus, Buick’s and other gray cars that were parked near mine. Succeeded a couple times.

I got a great deal on that car. Bought it with 90K miles for $1500 from a friend who was moving overseas. I drove it for 3-4 years, then my daughter drove it for 2, then my son had it for 2. He got rear ended last year by a guy who offered me $4000 to not go to insurance.

No problem!

Nothing rocks like a good beater car. One of my favorites was a 76 B210 I paid $100 for and recouped in the first week of delivering pizzas with it on tips. Put 30,000 more miles on it and sold it to a coworker for $200 :-)

That thing got stupid gas mileage too, if you tried (and believe me, I did) to get crappy mileage that was ~35 mpg. Tune up was spiking the vacuum with your hand over the carb. You could put a set of brake pads in it about 10 minutes per wheel...

Funny thing was, I always drive my cars into the dirt. I buy late model high mileag used cars. My current car is a 2006 Pontiac Vibe. I bought it in 2009 with 142k miles.

I’m now at 275k. I got a company car last year so drive it much anymore.

I’ve never sold a car for more than $1000 until the sable, and it was crushed on both ends. Insurance even bought my kid a new laptop because his got destroyed.

Minnesota bound said she was a looker and I was thinking she looked 12. Yes, very pretty for a 12 year old, but definitely an adolescent.

One guy who owned his own insurance company rented one of those at the gas station next to the hotel I worked at. Had to drive him to his airplane and return the car for him.

The doors looked like they were 2 inches thick (outer to inner) maximum.
