If you are trapped in a sewage treatment pond but your head is above water and a big wave comes up which will wash you into someplace unknown, will you ride the wave? Or cling to a branch in the pond?

Any sensible person knows there are real risks associated with riding the wave, but staying in the pond is guaranteed to not end well.

My stock analogy is that putting Trump in is like pulling your goalie in hockey—you really do not want to get yourself into the position where that is your best option, but if you find yourself in that position, then go for it.
