What started as a peaceful Mothers Day dinner at Kiku Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar on Camp Creek Parkway turned into a massive brawl between employees and customers.
Video of the fight surfaced online showing people throwing plates, trays and an ice bucket into the dining area.
Sailyn Barlow, 14, and her father captured the incident with their cellphones.
Im actually thinking its very good stuff, Barlow told Channel 2 Action News. Im thinking, Wow, Im going to have a lot of views on this if I post it. Wow, I cant believe this is actually happening. And wow, I hope I dont get hit with something.
According to a police report, Demonte Harrison, a busboy at the restaurant, was cleaning tables when a female customer berated him for smiling.
Harrison told the customer it was his job to smile and she couldnt tell him not to smile.
It was then that a male customer got up and punched the Harrison, according to the report. The victim was attacked by three other males in the group.
Employees attempted to help the busboy fight off the men.
No one was seriously injured in the fight, which East Point police said started after an employee smiled at a difficult customer, according to Channel 2. They are looking for four men and one woman in connection with the incident, the television station reported.
Restaurant owner Charlie Son said his employees were just sticking up for the worker who took the first punch.
Hes very upset, very excited, Son told Channel 2. He cannot speak. I told him to please go home, just calm down and take a rest.
Son estimated he lost about $5,000 in business after people got up and left during the brawl. The people who started the fight did not pay for their meal, he told Channel 2.

I thought they usually hit the all-you-can-eat buffets.
The fight started when a patron misheard the greeting “Happy Mothers Day”, and thought the busboy responded to a request for another dish of Edamame by saying “Happily, Mother F.....” It was all just a big misunderstanding within the mother f***in’ tribe.
All that is missing is One-eye and the Monolith.
I wonder ... how many of the ‘customers’ who stiffed the check finished their food before their buddies/bruthas started a fight so they could all run out on the bill?
Which, of course, was the original intent and the desired result.
It is getting more and more difficult being out there amongst the savage chimps while carrying concealed these days.
For the crab legs only. Which, of course, are free after they create a huge melee and disturbance which will afford them the chance to bail on the check.
