And sorry to get all huffy but their behavior still chaps me. They were so ‘entitled’ and whiney and I was embarrassed to claim them.
Well, I’ve kind of been on the opposite side of that. About 30 years ago I used to work for a wholesale Hawaii/Mexico tour company. I took a vacation to Cancun and booked myself into a moderate hotel that had a nice beach and was supposed to be a “superior” room with free breakfast and lunch buffet. I sold this hotel a lot, recommending it to travel agents as a good deal for customers on a budget. When we got there, they put us in a “standard” category room that was like a jail cell, then made us pay extra to upgrade. Then they told us the buffet wasn’t included. When I showed them our documents that said it was, the manager said “we keep telling them (our company) it’s not included”, even though I know damned well it was in our contract with them. When I got back and told the owner about my experience we dropped them.
I’m not defending anyone’s behavior, but if they were on a guided tour that was supposed to include certain meals, maybe they weren’t getting what they had paid for. There could be two sides to the story.
