IF .223 THEN frangible ammo for home defense.
ELSE your rounds can perform a full house penetration.
.22LR can also over penetrate and aint terribly lethal unless you place a lot of rounds in your target.
If you are rightfully concerned about drywall penetration, then consider getting a Remington 870 Tactical shotgun, and load it with NON-magnum 2 3/4” shells and #8 shot.
My two cents.

Exactly. When living in a townhouse, condominium, apartment, or anywhere penetrating interior/exterior walls is a major concern, simply opt for a shotgun.
Before my terrible (all firearms were lost) boating accident...basic defense duty typically went to the Remington 870 Police Magnum loaded with 2.75" shells despite owning plenty of rifles and handguns. Such an unfortunate situation that my rowboat capsized. :-(

Please educate yourself and stop misinforming readers of this forum. Frangible bullets are designed to break up into small pieces when impacting hardened steel targets. Against soft targets like terrorists or building walls, they act just like full metal jacket bullets.
Any bullet designed to terminate a lethal threat, will easily pass through walls, aircraft hulls, etc. Use what the FBI and Secret Service uses. Hint: Gold Dot.
