I cut the cord a few years ago

Roku with Hulu, netflix and Amazon subscriptions. I run it through my wifi. If you want 1080, you'll have to hardwire it. Occasional lags, decent programming - not a sports fan so I cant answer your question.

NO Commercials except Hulu and they are minimal

You will still need a wifi provider

I put a network switch in my AV cabinet (which I knocked out the wall, and built a sliding door to cover it) and I have my tv over the fireplace next to it.

Hardwiring it worked out well, because I have my XBox, Apple TV, Samsung DVD, Mac Mini, and the TV as well all hardwired into it instead of having them all hook up wirelessly.
