They’ll help keep tomato hornworms away from your other vegetables.
Can be used for pest control : insect, four legged mammal, and two legged mammal.
Always wear gloves ( I prefer nitrile) as capsicum is found in the roots, stem , flower , and fruit ; however capsicum is concentrated in the fruit seeds ! .
Yes the plants will cross with related plant family : tomatoes, peppers, potatoes and should be isolated by distance.
The Carolina Reaper that I grew last year averaged 18-20 mini hot peppers per plant ( planted late in the season in NY ).
For insect control, chop up whole peppers and put in 1 quart water, add 2-3 drops Dawn dishwasher soap(surfactant), set in the sun for 3 days and let it "brew " ;
carefully strain off solids, place liquid in hand sprayer/ spray bottle for use or dilute with water as needed .
For next batch, add 3 more hot peppers plus the solids from the first batch , and repeat steps above
For horticulture , apply to tops of chosen plant, and apply to the underside of the leaves for aphids , lice, leaf suckers , etc.
May need to reapply after heavy rain as the surfactant (dish soap) which adheres the concoction to the plants may be diluted and allow wash-off. Always wear gloves, safety glasses recommended ; nitrile gloves recommended !
