Madison became popular after the movie “Splash” with Daryl Hannah, in which she got the name “Madison” from a street sign for Madison Avenue. She was a mermaid in that movie who came on land and didn’t have a human name as I recall.

Amazing how names pop up in our culture.

I don't see it as amazing.

I see it a female-driven faddish trendiness and thus something to be leery of.
