While watching an old episode of "Gunsmoke" this morning I heard this little gem spoken by U.S. Marshall Matt Dillon. I found it so interesting I wrote it down.
I suppose it is open to interpretation but in the context of what Donald Trump has been talking about since day one on rebuilding our military it kind of makes sense.
Kind of like another line from a movie I saw years ago called "Speechless" where these two guys are running for the U.S. Senate in the southwest on the border with Mexico. The dividing live on the border was this huge ditch which the Democrat candidate hated and the Republican candidate liked. The nickname was "The Friendship Ditch" kind of like that wall Trump wants to build.
Anyway the Matt Dillon lines sounds good and would not that be a line for Trump to use, would drive the Liberals Crazy.
Is that a gun in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
What was the line? Did I miss it?
I love catchy lines from old movies or TV shows. One of my favorites is Admiral Chegwidden from an old JAG - believe he was talking to the CIA guy Webb...
“I may not be in your chain of command but you are in my line of fire.”
The nonsense we’re forced to put up with today from the government, crowds all the good lines from our minds..
Yeah, I think I missed the line, too.
On your second point, the border with Mexico, Robert Frost famously wrote: “Stone Walls make good neighbors.”
And he was right.
“”What was the line? Did I miss it?””
I was going to ask the same thing but decided the title must be the line.......
Might be right I guess. Guess I’d like to know the context.
I think the actual line was “Good fences make good neighbors”.
Quoting Robert Heinlin, “An armed society is a polite society.”.
Well, I surely like the idea of calling Trump’s wall the “Friendship Wall.”
(Subtitled; “Built by America, paid for by Mexico.”
“Sometimes It Takes A Loaded Gun To Prove A Friendship”
Thanks, got that after a bit.
Bernie took it to a new level!
30 second video that’s NOT TO BE MISSED. I’ll watch it at least once a day between now and November!

Quite right. The title is “Mending Wall,” it’s a stone wall he’s talking about, and he calls it a wall about ten times throughout the poem, but the poem does end, for some reason, with “Good fences make good neighbors.”
In any case, he’s quite right.
That’s Hillaryious....so smooth it seemed real.
Brilliant! I just sent it out to my email list.
Buzzards got to eat, same as worms!
