I don’t get why anyone would use “Cloud” for storage considering your data is no longer under your control.

Why not just set-up a separate, wireless or wired, external HD that no one can access but you?

I couldn't agree more. People are super concerned about invasion of privacy, identity theft, getting their PC hacked, etc., ... then push all their personal info out to a "secure" cloud.

You can get a 4TB external HD for 100 bucks. Buy two so you have a complete backup automatically. I’ve never grasped the advantage of the cloud for an individual. Businesses have a different set of requirements.
