In a former life, I had a MGB. Really fun to drive...when it was running.
My oldest brother had one, rolled it into a ditch, can still remember him in the kitchen with my mom freaking out about the blood all over his shoulder,he said there was a bee in the car.
Hahaha, I put about 140K on my first car I bought as a young sailor, a 1976 MG Midget.
I had The British Sports Car Disease too...learned everything about working on cars with that one, including kneeling before Lucas, The Father of Darkness!
What I wanted at 16 was an MGBGT - I had a neighbor who put a small-block Chevy motor in one and it was a blast. What I ended up with was a worn out MG Midget.
lol My father would agree with you.
Yeah, I had three. The worst was the 1975.5 I bought new. Piece of crap I swapped straight across for a 76 Honda Civic after six months of hell.
My brother had a beautiful ‘67 Mercury Cougar that I loved.
Now I have my current fave, a 2005 Audi A4 Avant V6, six speed manual. But I never drive it!
Cheers,
Jim
