I understand your sentiment. I am 65, a cancer patient (in remission, thank God!), so I think all things considered I have 10 - 15 years left. Then I’ll “cross the river to rest in the shade of the trees,” as Stonewall Jackson said on his deathbed.

Yes, thank God for the remission. I’ve got a bad ticker. I’m also 65 and I’ve already lived longer than my dad by 3 years and longer than my big brother by 11 years. I doubt there’s more than 10 years left.

Life is good for me and my wife right now because we are in relatively good health and we’ve got every thing we need. So, I want to live a while longer. But I don’t want to go through the hell on earth that I think is probably coming. Let’s just thank God every day for what we have and for the life we were blessed to live.
