Far Harbor is the third of the initial set of Fallout 4 DLC add-ons. Bethesdas promised more DLC in the months ahead but Far Harbor will serve as the finale of the initial batch of content. And what a finale its shaping up to be.
This roundup focuses on the most important things to know, right now, about the Fallout 4 Far Harbor DLC release later this month.
Keep these details in mind if youre looking into Bethesdas $50 Fallout 4 Season Pass and/or the next piece of Fallout 4 DLC.
The latest patch 1.5, should be out today with the following features:
- New Survival difficulty
- Survival adds additional challenges including no fast travel, saving only when you sleep, increased lethality, diseases, fatigue, danger and more. See the in-game Help menu for more details.
- Characters set to Survival difficulty appear under their own Character Selection filter
- Third person camera movement improvements when player is close up against walls and other objects

Drenched in apathy, I haven’t bestirred myself into more than a few minutes of Automaton. The builder DLC interests me precisely zero. Survivor Mode with no fast travel? Good gawd no. As for Far Harbor, since I’ve already paid for it, I’ll install and give it a shot with about as much enthusiasm as eating turkey stew two days after Thanksgiving.
Bethesda, you blew it big time. RPG/action games must not be mixed with Civ/farmer games. The builders of Skyrim had it right. F4 , let’s face it, sucks.
I like it. But have pretty much played it to death.
I fast travel as little as possible. (But am also play on easy setting.)
Kinda has the Silent Hill look to it.
I don’t usually get to survivor mode until I have played through several times.
I like to experience what little story there is first.
I believe it is a mystery story for Nick Valentine.
And by the way, is Cait the most hamfisted ethnic stereotype ever or what?
Concur. Loved FNV and Skyrim after creating my own mods to get rid of leveled lists (enemies and treasure) and add more random spawns. FO4 is not salvageable even with Creation Kit.
The Only Thing Better than getting pissed is picking a fight! Am I right?
Love Skyrim. I played it once without ever leveling up beyond level 1. Got through that first mine, killed the first dragon, retrieved the transmutation book, but finally came up against a maje who could recover his health faster than I could take it away. Still, I was several hours into the game and rather pleased with myself. ;)
We also need a new S.T.A.L.K.E.R game and a new Dues EX game-
Anyone have any recommendations for games that are similar to Dues EX or Stalker? (I’m not big on METRO series)- something with an ‘open world’ to explore kinda like STALKER?
I hit it with Cait.
And McGreavy, too. Whenever I sleep near McGreavy, he goes “I never knew you could do that with mutfruit.”
LOL
We also need a new S.T.A.L.K.E.R game
There are 3 or 4 stalker games. I didn’t know about the game until some time after it was released and was able to get it really cheap ... I only paid twelve dollars for one of them. I can’t think of any other games sufficiently like stalker to recommend. The games I have, over the years, replayed the most are Omikron, Mafia, Skyrim, and Scarface.
Thanks, I’ll check those out-
The Far Cry series is pretty good for open world.
That’s true. One of the Far Cry games got me hooked on Texas Hold ‘Em poker. LOL
I had checked that out before- it seemed a bit too ‘run and gun’ for my taste- but i didn’t try them so i can’t tell for sure- Maybe I’l give em a try- thanks-
