One element of this FDA rule ignored by all media is that it directly benefits two corporations known for massive campaign contributions—General Cigar and Altadis.

Many of their cigar brands pre-date 2007 so this is a raw power play to put their newer and smaller competitors out of business. Those competitors produce superior cigars—so the big guys have decided to fight back by playing dirty.

So we have a combination of nanny state and crony capitalism insanity.

If only it was that easy. Yep, it’s done. I’m resigned to it now. Sad...but moving back into civil engineering. God I hate civil engineers. They’re so DRY!

The lobbyists have stolen what people like me were doing. We did it for (yes, profits)....the benefit of the smokers.

That’s the shittiest thing about this. We started importing them nearly a decade ago to help people quit smoking.

Lost my dad and my grandpa to smoking. Uncles to chewing tobacco. This was something I could do for someone else to get them out of that risk category.

If you could only see the emails I got from 60 year old customers that quit in days after decades of trying. I cried reading some of them.

Moving on. Thanks, FDA....and the corrupt political system.

It will soon dawn on growers and distributors that the risk of their business will exceed the potential reward and the vast majority will close their businesses laying off thousands in several countries.

Fascism?
