The offending video featured three young players including James Pearson, son of then manager Nigel Pearson, engaging in explicit acts with a group of Thai women in a Bangkok hotel.
Filmed by the players in May 2016, the footage of the sniggering men soon ended up in the British tabloid press, shocking the public with their crude remarks including calling one of the Thai women a "slit-eye".

Well, in most of Europe, making racist comments is a crime, while prostitution is either legal, tolerated, or winked at.

I’m amazed that anyone is surprised. Theodore Dalrymple covered the “thug lives” of British footballers nearly two decades ago.

The article is a bit confusing since it says the sex scandal was May 2016. The date is wrong, it was in 2015.
