He showed exactly why he is a much better candidate than Trump.
He brought up many of Trump's inconsistencies and the NYT tapes that Trump won't release where it is said he admits that he's playing people. (Add to this the meeting with Gope where they are reassured that Trump is putting on an act at his rallies.)
He also demonstrated why he would make a better president, and how he can unite the party by acknowledging and having respect for people who are against him.
Basically Trump refuses to debate, so Cruz held an impromptu debate with some of his supporters.
Cruz is an "outside the box" thinker and fighter.
Brilliant move.
Ted Cruz IS who people think Donald Trump is. I'm praying that he will be our next president.
Wow, just wow, that is some delusional posting going on there.
If you'd even bothered to see how Ted Cruz was vetted here on Free Republic, you would understand Ted Cruz lied through the whole thing about Donald Trump.
Ted Cruz is a terrible candidate and it's turning out, he's a terrible person. It's too bad you missed all the vetting on Cruz here on FR or you just outright ignored it.
CGato
Ted showed just what a petty, stupid, little man he really is, getting into the face of a Trump supporter. He just refused to see that he was getting nowhere, by telling multiple lies, and just kept at it.
What he demonstrated, is that he is an egomaniac, unlikeable, creepy, weird, an amateur, disrespectful, and should NEVER again be allowed to hold any elected nor nominated office on any level.
You are delusional. Cruz as usual told half truths or outright lies. He is a master at continuing to lie and twist when correct information is on Trump’s website. And where were you that you missed the 11 debates already done? Time to face it America rejects the lying, Canadian born Cruz.

You aren’t, by chance, an official cRuz advisor, are you? Just curious.
This sentence of yours is a precise reflection of the type of broad overgeneralization Ted Cruz makes that turns people off taking a specific incident in particular circumstances and spinning it to sound like a hard-and-fast policy position. Trump does not "refuse to debate" he debated over and over again, more debates than any other election season. In fact, his presence was providing such great ratings to the TV networks that the debates were very profitable for them, so the networks wanted more debates than the public seemed to want and even so, Trump won every debate according to the main online polls: Drudge, Time magazine, etc.
What Trump has refused to do is elevate Cruz's profile by debating him one-on-one now that the panel debates are over why should he favor debating Cruz over debating Kasich? And Trump refused the one debate "moderated" by Megyn Kelly after she had amply demonstrated that it would not be a debate, but a public humiliation by a biased interrogator rather than a neutral moderator, complete with her having lined up illegal and muslim immigrant protesters who would hurl "social justice" rebukes in the form of questions at Trump naked media manipulation, not a "debate."
This illustrates why Trump says politicians are "all talk, no action." Cruz is trying to wear people out with words; the MSM has been engaging in yet another round of brazen coercion in favor of the Uniparty. Trump took effective action to shut down "gotcha" crap such as the stuff the MSM leveled against Palin in 2008. Cruz is acting like a female in this race "Can we talk? You never talk to me!" after she has run up the credit card and wants to "explain" and wheedle.
Trump is acting like a man.
