“On Campus,” says the article at the link.
(I actually clicked on the post because I was curious about “echo chambers on camps,” though. A new activity for the Cub Scouts?)
Pretty good article. It’s a commonplace observation that a leftist can go through his entire life without being exposed to contrary opinions from any reasonable people. However, with the growth of more specialized media, it is becoming easier for people of any strain of ideology to block out anything with which they might disagree.
ADMIN could fix. Campus vs Camp
Indeed.
The NY Times wrote this?
Are they starting to see the monster they created getting a bit out of their control?
I see they did change it. “Campus” may attract more interest than “camps” ;-).
Another point is that, once begins getting used to the absence of disagreement, it’s easy to feel entitled to uniformity of opinion.
It’s a guest blogger on the NYT site, not actual NYT content.
Still working against Trump, eh, SampleMan?
FreeRepublic is not immune from this sweeping cultural phenomenon, and we each need to consider how we present our own argum ents. There are real and vitally important differences among our separately preferred candidates, and those issues should be fully examined and vigorously debated. Such debate reveals differences and presents clear choices, and wins real converts who share in ideas. It's much easier to stifle opposing arguments in the first place by attacking their advocates and demonizing them with dismissive labels (e.g. Trumpists, Cruzers, Bush-bots, etc.), but such intellectual laziness ignores the fact that we will need each other to win in November and hopefully to govern in January.
LOL!
Ya, cuz there’s no irony in posting an “echo chamber” article on a Trump embracing site.....
I guess that makes the fact that its an NYT article a two-layered irony.
To #NeverTrump & BitterEnder conservatives: Fighting the inevitability of a Trump nomination puts you in the lifeboat with the GOPee.
The Wisconsin shenanigans proved conclusively that the Democrats fear Trump more than Cruz.
An Iraqi war veteran wrote that in the opinion page of the Slimes. I’m surprised they published. Even more surprised that most of the comments agreed with him.
How exactly does your post relate to the article I posted?
“conclusively”?
hellooooo...

Denial ain’t just a river in Texas...
We’re on to your game, #CleverNever.
That may well be THE POST OF THE YEAR! Thank you and Congratulations! God bless you and yours!
Don’t like what you see in the mirror?
You have lasted longer than I thought you would, Stool - but nobody has really tried to deal with your gnat's buzzing. Plus, you got a tad more subtle - but not much. :)
I'm presently reviewing your posts to see if you've ever actually posted that you'd VOTE for Trump if he's the Republican nominee.
Somehow, I think the answer to that particular question is "#Never"...
Annoy me some more and I might put the hounds onto you, though... :)
