“Irresponsible owners are reprehensible, responsible owners are none of your business.”
Actually, they are. Ive never seen the neighbors 38 revolver escape its place in the drawer and run outside to attack kids in the street. Pits do it a lot. And the “game” is that every time it happens, the owner is said to be “irresponsible”.
But the fact is unless by responsible you mean keeping that pit in a backyard zoo type enclosure, they can and will escape sometime.
Those things are a menace, and even ones owned by responsible people do a lot of damage.
Gun grabbers will point out that plenty of weapons have fallen into the hands of children and criminals, and that is one reason why they should have a say in your gun ownership.
If one believes in personal freedom and personal responsibility one should be extremely reluctant to take freedom from others based on what could happen.
