Well, well, well .....
I’m Assistant Cubmaster for my Son’s Scout pack. We’re doing our Spring clean-ups next weekend.
This weekend, I’m running lights and sound for the school District I work at for their Spring musical. I’m normally the Network Administrator...
Granted, it’s not Mother Tereasa level work, but every little bit counts IMO.
I was taught that tithing is an old testament law only.
Cruz is passing himself as the ultimate fundamental Christian. Isnt part of their religion an expectation to tithe?

You nailed it.
If he didn’t pass himself off as our moral leader, I wouldn’t have much of an issue with it.
The hypocrisy has not gone unnoticed.
You’re pathetic.
>Is this really how we want to judge a candidates fitness to be president?
No it’s how you tell if he’s a Phony. I grew in a extremely poor family and no mater how poor we were, we always tithed. Cruz by contrast is an rich man and he gives little.
Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.
43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everythingall she had to live on.
You better never run for president! Your conservative ideas will be totally overlooked for your lack of Old Testament adherence!
You probably aren’t selling yourself as putting God first in every decision you make. Rafael Cruz is on Christian radio stations telling us that Ted will always do that. Hmmmm mm
Pass it on, thank you!
Otherwise, be careful throwing stones.
I'd wager few here give 10% of their entire income to any church. Mine only asks 1%, which I gave. Unfortunately, secular agencies (IRS, mainly) wanted another 30%+.
Personally, I would be thrilled to give 10% to 'Caesar' and 10% to Jesus and keep the rest.
More dishonest disinformation.
Just google how much he does and gives under the radar.
LOL! He says he does events in place of tithing. Talk about LOL!
So you are going to focus on what he spends his money on, rather than what he spends his time/life on?
So... Can we talk about Trumps wives, mistresses, contribution to vice re; casinos, prior support for Bloomberg and the Clintons....
No?
Then just shut the hell up.
Common knowledge
And Trump giving away rounds of golf is “tithing”?
Pass it on, thank you!
Good grief.
You sound like you’re living in the make believe world of a teachers lounge - totally devoid of reality.
Not so much on being hypocrites though... Castigating Cruz while pushing for Trump smacks to me of the utmost level of hypocrisy...
This is old news. It was out before Iowa.
But, I guarantee this is one of the reasons Cruz lost South Carolina and most of the South to Trump.
In the religious groups Cruz was trying to appeal to, tithing is a fundamental of the faith. Where your money is there is your heart. Non-tithers are judged as being wayward Christians; Christians who don’t’ put Christ first in their lives.
What would your reaction be if you found out Cruz had never been baptized? Now you understand how tithing advocates felt upon hearing the news that Cruz was a non-tither.
BTW, I do not believe tithing is a requirement for Christians. But, I am a southerner and have attended churches that have preached it. You have no idea how hard it is push as a requirement to demonstrate you are a faithful Christian—particularly in megachurches.
>I was taught that tithing is an old testament law only.
As Jesus was starting out on his way to Jerusalem, a man came running up to him, knelt down, and asked, Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?
18 Why do you call me good? Jesus asked. Only God is truly good. 19 But to answer your question, you know the commandments: You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. You must not cheat anyone. Honor your father and mother.[a]
20 Teacher, the man replied, Ive obeyed all these commandments since I was young.
21 Looking at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him. There is still one thing you havent done, he told him. Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.
22 At this the mans face fell, and he went away sad, for he had many possessions.
23 Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, How hard it is for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God! 24 This amazed them. But Jesus said again, Dear children, it is very hard[b] to enter the Kingdom of God. 25 In fact, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!
If you don’t care about a tax break, there’s no need for the church accountant, or anyone else to know what you’re giving. It’s between you and G_d. As it should be.
