“And thats not counting the ALCM, SLCM or GLCMs!”
Thanks a lot, now I’m going to have to find out what all
that means. Sounds like a good read though.
Air Launched Cruise Missile
Submarine Launched Cruise Missile
Ground Launched Cruise Missile
IIRC, that is. I’ve been out for a while.
Sorry, I should have spelled it out.
Air Launched Cruise Missiles
Sea Launched Cruise Missiles
Ground Launched Cruise Missiles
The order of attack to start the air war was the Army Apaches found and destroyed the Iraqi mobile anti aircraft guns and missiles will Hellfires. They needed a pilot in the cockpit to find the targets in case they had moved a few miles.
Next the cruise missiles destroyed the fixed site heavier anti aircraft gun and missile sites closer into Baghdad. These sites were beyond the range of the Apaches, but since their were heavier, larger fixed anti aircraft sites and weren’t often moved, the cruise missiles were perfect.
That cleared a path for the F-117 stealth fighter/bombers, and the F-117s put on the best 4th of July fireworks show ever, blew up everything they wanted to, and all returned safety back to base.
Ain’t firepower, American warriors and a president with balls a great combination!
