104 years later, a reminder to all of us how precious and fleeting life is. I was walking today and smelled the smell of grass - just waking up this spring from its winter dormancy. It just triggered memories of playing in the grass as a child, decades ago, and how the grass smelled then, and just how new the world was to me then. Never take a moment for granted.

Really nice memory. Wow. Thanks for sharing. It’s amazing what can cause “triggers” (not to use it like the left does). Sometimes very vague memories or feelings will be recalled by something someone says or a sight or a smell, and sometimes things more specific. Anyway, your post gave me a good feeling, and also a sad feeling. It’s all very fleeting.

I was trying to remember where I saw it. I knew it was on You Tube regarding a song, but with my bad memory and tired brain, I didn't think I would remember it tonight. I shared it with a friend at the time and he liked it. But it just came to me. I was listening to an REO Speedwagon song on YT a few months back, and I saw this comment (see below). It reminded me of what you two said...(sorry, totally not related to the subject of the Titanic): REO Speedwagon - Keep on Loving You https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJzNZ1c5C9c Wes Bervig 4 months ago This song takes me back. I remember when it came out in the fall of 1980. I was in tenth grade and on a certain night at two o clock in the morning I snuck out of my house in Lenexa, Kansas through the back door leading out to the screened in backyard porch. There were four foot tall snowdrifts and it was freezing with a light breeze blowing, but other than the sound of the breeze blowing and the rustling of the bare trees in our backyard all was quiet. The night sky was overcast but the moons glow could be seen through the clouds. It was then that I felt an incredible happiness that I have not felt since then.
