And this charade is being conducted in an America that argues whether men dressed as women should be allowed to pee beside little girls, whether Christian bakers should make pastries for queers, whether we should encourage immigration from countries whose people are sworn to murder us, and whether just being born white gives us an unfair advantage over others. Not to mention an America whose highest marginal tax rate is an order of magnitude higher than the one that resulted in the Boston Tea Party.

It's nice to see an occasional reminder that we were once a brave, proud people. It would be nicer to see that courage and pride practiced every day.

Article 34’s proponent is featured in today’s Boston Globe stating that he will present Article 34 as a non-binding resolution at town meeting.

For the record. The basic premise of Rotberg’s Article 34 is an insult to all law abiding gun owners. His logic is also flawed in that he insinuates that a gun is inherently “dangerous”. A firearm is an inanimate object incapable of doing anything on its own. The only thing that has the potential for being dangerous is the person and there is nothing in any of the versions of Article 34 which addresses this. It’s just more bigotry, harassment and blame of lawful gun owners.

If Robert Rotberg had his way, we’d all be taking tea at four PM.
