Johnny Manziel has been fired by his new agent Drew Rosenhaus. It was revealed last Wednesday that Rosenhaus had told Manziel he would not continue their relationship unless the disgraced quarterback agreed to enter a facility to receive treatment for his alleged substance abuse issues. Manziel responded by spending the weekend partying in Coachella. This is now the second agent to fire Manziel is as many months. ESPN was the first to report the news.

I seem to remember a bleary eyed Namath trying to play a few downs and then puking his guts out on the sidelines. TV announcer said he apparently had a "stomach flu" but you could figure out what "Broadway Joe" had been doing Saturday night.
The NFL was a much different place 40+ years ago.
I’ve read that he’s been living with Von Miller in LA, and Von’s trying to straighten him out, and actually advocating for the Broncos to hire him.
When I found out Johnny Football’s family was gazillionaires (Mom and Dad are worth something like $30 million), his lackadaisical attitude suddenly made sense to me.
See my post #23.
He probably won’t run out for money for the rest of the century or so.
The Grand Jury is going to end him.
Well FWIW it looks like at least Lindsey is turning her life around a bit, and she recently got engaged.
I knew a guy who played for the Redskins when Billy Kilmer was the quarterback. My former Redskin friend swore that he smelled whiskey on somebody’s breath in the huddle.
“Funny, when Kenny Stabler or Joe Namath were seen out partying with booze and beautiful women it was considered cool.”
I remember Kenny Stabler saying that he studied the game plan using the light from the Jukebox! When a reporter asked him about it he said, “How much sleep do you need to do 3 hours of work?” ;-)
There was the famous story that Art Donovan told about Bobby Layne, and after Donovan sacked Layne, he could smell the alcohol on Bobby and said, “Man, Bobby, you must have had a heck of a night last night”, and Bobby replied, “I had a few at halftime.”
You can tell he is high in the picture. Spoiled brat.
Stabler would have decked Manziel at least a few times if they were teammates.
Problem for him is that the league checks for drugs they consider to be illegal. Johnny is a bad apple.
The big difference between guys like Namath, Stabler and Manziel is that Manziel does not have the work ethic of the other two. My understanding is that he will not do the basics, watch game film, master the playbook, practice enough.
Namath was legendary in his devotion to the game in all aspects and would routinely keep his receivers after regular practice to practice even more. Same with Stabler. Yeah they played hard but they worked hard also and they won championships, something I doubt Manziel will ever do.
He is just too immature and it looks as though he has a serious alcohol problem.
Yep, and I wonder if he cares. He’s so self absorbed. He cant just go party, he has to announce it to the world. Dumb.
Arena league? NFL Europe? Canada?
Johnny just doesn’t seem to understand that professional football is not just about on field accomplishments, but how much money the sports ecosystem can make on the side deal endorsements. He’s queering that deal, and that is unacceptable to management.
I’m not the most religious person on the planet, but if there’s anyone who needs to find Jesus, and soon, it’s this guy. He may not have much time left.
If Manziel makes it that far, he’ll be a good first round draft pick for next year’s dead pool.
Jails, institutions, and death.
I laugh at the terminology “alleged “
No it was considered cool by very few people. Alcoholics and drug addicts, particularly those with money, live desperate and miserable lives. We have not become wimps. The nation has become more educated on the devastion caused
