Listen GOPe campaign worker. This issue is dead, anybody who is not so invested in Cruz they can use a computer can see that for a long time Trump has given way more to GOP then Dems. So its a dead issue and to keep pushing it is insulting the intelligence of anybody who can use a search engine.
A NY Business man paying off crooked politicians is nothing more then normal business. Its nothing to hang your hat on but does show either dishonesty on your part or ignorance on large business practices in democrats controlled states.
This is why outside the Cruz camp this talking point falls flat.
Yes, I realize that to Trump supporters, his donating to a known crook like Hillary and supporting other leftist radical Democrats is just ‘business as usual’ and perfectly expected and acceptable. But then, this election isn’t going to hinge on the opinions of those that think that brand of “ethics” is ok. We’ve had way too much of that kind of pay for play BS already.
I think that most Americans are ready for a change away from that kind of corruption...and the silent majority and independents, the ones we mostly never hear from, will weigh in during this election process. And I sincerely doubt that they’re as accepting of Trump’s past “deal making” as you guys are. Hence, Trump’s already 67% (and climbing) unfavorable rating.
“A businessman paying off crooked politicians is nothing more than normal business?”
How have the trumpers fallen!
It is not normal business and Trump is not a normal businessman or even a successful one.
The only problem is that it requires Trump supporters to remember way back, back to the days before the primordial ooze was formed, six whole months ago, which is farther back than any Trump supporter can recall at all.
At the time, Trump was being pressed gently about two facts: 1) that his companies tended to go habitually bankrupt, leaving his creditors in the lurch and 2) that he once attempted to use eminent domain to screw an old woman out of her home so he could build a limousine parking lot for one of his casinos.
Trumps response to these undoubtedly true charges was I took advantage of the laws of this country and did what any businessman would have done. There was no justification offered for why these actions were right or fair; they were legal and they helped Trump get ahead, so his minions actually used them as evidence that Trump was a brilliant business man possessed of great foresight.
