So, FReepers, a welcome break from pollyticks. What do you think of my new baby? At this moment, I am taking a break from sawing the PVC tubes from which I am fashioning a kitten gate of my own design for my kitchen. The kitchen will give Zizu a lot more room and ventilation to reside in while she is in her 2 week quarantine. Monday she will be introduced to my own vet, who will first keel over from cuteness overload and then proceed to give Zizu a complete and thorough exam. Zizu obviously needs some groceries, as she is pretty thin from a rough previous life, but I think a bit of eye ointment and possibly a second dose of ear mite drops will set her right as far as vet stuff. I will try to get a fresh sample of Zizu product from the litter box to see if she has worms. She already had one dose of worm medicine at my suggestion to the sketchy vet who the rescue group used to board their rescues. He obviously didn't want to spend a dime he didn't have to.

I have a big old Ragdoll named Frank - so tempting to think about getting a tiny kitten! Congrats on the sweet lamb!

She’s so beautiful!
A suggestion for the ear mites instead of having to do drops every day for a few weeks. A couple times when one of our cats has had mites, we gave her one dose of Revolution. The mites disappeared after a couple weeks. (We have 6 indoor cats, and only one has had mites — twice. We’d heard that they’re contagious but we have no idea where she got the mites, and none of the others has had them. Anyhow... Revolution if you’re not opposed to the chemical.

I LOVE Zizu! Congrats on your new baby!
Her name reminds me of one of my fave Wes Anderson films: *The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou*

Zizu is beautiful! I’m glad you’ve found a new sweet baby to love. We now have six kitties - more than we’d planned, but life is like that. We love them all.

First congratulations! Second, thank you for giving this beautiful and sweet kitty a loving home. My rescue kitty, after a year and 1/2 with me, has never learned to play with toys (3 years on the street and 4 in the center)except a cloth string that I snake on the floor for her. Her only toy! I keep buying them for her but all she wants is her mother pulling the string...I am happy your kitty is filling the emptiness in your heart.

Thanks for the break from FRacrimony!
Zizu's markings are one of the most dramatic examples of "genetic diversity" I've seen in a long while! Quite pleasingly striking...
And, I do hope she learns to enjoy toys. Our two "rescues" certainly have -- we find them strewn all over the house in the mornings -- after returning them to their storage bin before bedtime...
Congrats on your new companion!

I think I told you NOT to try to get a kitty just like the one you lost. If I did, I am glad you did not take my advice. Two big winners here! Cats are great! (Except for Max of Windridge Court, but that’s another story)

Congrats on your new little love! Thank you for posting her picture.
Now I’m intrigued by the PVC gate & wish to see that as well. I need to construct 3 cheap gates to keep my elderly dog from messing in the living room. Right now the room doors & one baby gate suffice, but I’d really like to keep doors open & air circulating.

YAY!!! Wecome Zizu! I think the black and white parts will be the sweet kitty personality traits... WATCH out for the orange parts! :) The fact that she is responding to you petting her means she was probably a throw away vs a feral. THAT is a good thing. It took us a good three weeks to be able to even touch SK. Good luck on the introduction! It will probably go a lot smoother than you think. Hugs and congratulations!! Mom
