It seems likely that both candidates will fall short of the 1237 delegate votes needed to win the nomination on the first ballot.

What happens to Trump's claim of inevitability in the nomination if Cruz leads in delegates after the first ballot?

I love delusional articles like this.
It only gets better it’s from a crazy pro-Cruz source, and uses “skewed” just like that Unskewed Polls guy from 2012 that said Romney was way ahead of Obama, despite obvious reality.
__________

I’m pretty sure it’s that same guy.

I find it interesting that Reagan had two kids who voted against their dad but he managed to win. Trumps kids aren’t voting against him but won’t get votes just the same. And they both had one son who are very conservative. The comparisons to trump and Reagan are amazingly great!

You have to watch Trump pressers and rallies not just the debates.

{Funny thing, Trump has exposed that 30% republicans are in fact liberals...}

Yep that would be the same 30% or so that is supporting him...

Your pictures are annoying and mean nothing.

Disenfranchise voters is a pipe dream of Trump, a man who admitted he won’t campaign or spend money in places where it is hard.

He has roused his supporters into a fury over something that is his own failure and is looking more and more pathetic in the process.

Trump 755
Cruz 521

Delegates remaining 798

Trump needs 482 - 69.4% of the remaining delegates.
Cruz needs 716 - 89.7% of the remaining delegates.

https://www.gop.com/official-2016-gop-delegate-count/

With Cruz cratering in the polls Trump getting to 1237 is very possible

Exactly right, austingirl.

And unless Trump over performs in New York he will be further set back.

Trump usually under performs polls, so we will see.

The difference between the two campaigns becomes more and more obvious.

Trump uses the media and holds big rallies.

Cruz gets down in the trenches and gets the votes.

I feel encouraged by the article. We really need to nominate Ted Cruz.

Trump is scrambling now to shore up his dysfunctional team.

He’s made a couple of new hires, both of whom could be regarded as ex-GOPe, if that term has any meaning any more.

Manafort is just another scumbag and his hire has resulted in vicious infighting between Corey forces and Manafort.

I don’t think Manafort has been in the game in a long time. He’s been messing around with Russian politics and Russian mobsters. He’s gonna have to play catch up to Ted Cruz now.

Not sure he can do it.

It’s complicated and it depends on the state. Some states’ delegates are absolutely bound on the first round, but not all.

You forgot a few things, but good try. LOL.

How about trying to drive the small farmers off of their land when they ruined the view from his casino?

Dirty pigs...trashy little farmers.

Cruz has baggage?

You must be joking. That National Enquirer crap that Trump tried to pull using his buddy, Pecker, has fallen flatter than a pancake.

But Trump? Oh, yeah, baby, he has so much baggage, it’s a good thing he owns his own plane.

I’m not talking about his trashy Kardasian-style personal life, although that is disgusting enough.

But also his questionable business practices. What kind of person gets sued more than any living person?

Going back to 1983, Donald Trump has reportedly been named in 169 lawsuits and that’s only at the national level. Sued by celebrities, personal assistants, prisoners, mental hospital patients, unions, and wealthy businessmen.

Is that even normal?

Agreed.

I think he is too late.

That is why they are on boards like this trying to whip up the emotional sympathy vote for their candidate.

If trumpers were even slightly open to reality, they would be more accepting of a candidate who can win.

They cannot accept how deep and widespread the dislike of Trump is.

I hope we don’t have to find out. I hope Ted Cruz can pull it off.

Beyond silly. The committed delegates are bound in the first round, regardless of what doofus writers say.

And, no, Ted is not close.

TED. WILL. NEVER. BE. THE. NOMINEE.

Been sayin this for four months now.

Cruz lost the primary vote and is now aiding and abetting the enemy (the GOPe)
in their treasonous attempt to deny the nomination to the winner.
Cruz is a sore loser turned traitor against the grassroots voters.

I don’t know if maybe you have forgotten but the causus’ and primaries aren’t over yet. Do you want to deny those states that haven’t voted yet? It ain’t over until the fat lady sings.
