If you use HTML like line breaks, paragraph, etc., it seems to kill links

"However, any FReeper can start a FReeper Book Club
dedicated to reading a book. There are only three rules:

Let Jim Robinson know in advance as a courtesy.
Use "freeperbookclub" as a keyword.
Once started, stick with it to the end.

Pretty simple."

“I bought a copy of it or whatever it became off Amazon.”

Thank you. You are correct that the commentaries are at Amazon:

Also, for those who want electronic access to Atlas Shrugged:

This appears to be both legal and virus free.

"I hate liberals. "

Kewel! Me too.

I recommend reading Fountainhead before Atlas Shrugged. Why? Because there is no such thing as a 'collective' fundamentally ... that is the name for many individuals grouped together by something. Granted - they may be infected by good or bad by each other BUT ...

Fountainhead addresses Ayn's philosophy and view of the heroic man / individual from the standpoint of the individual.

Atlas Shrugged is how it plays out in groups (not only) ... but understanding Roarke and Dominique and some others - you already understand Rearden and Dagney and what's about to play out on a bigger scale when man really starts acting as a collective.

If this were a tyranny, and I were Kim Jong Tiny Owl - I would ORDER ever human being to read the Fountainhead, but it's not. But I ORDER everyone here to read it anyway. Because I feel like it, and you can't get arrested for giving out orders even if you have no authority.

PS, it’s beside the point, but doesn’t surprise me ... while Princess Bride is Ted’s favorite ... Trump in an interview with USA Today the other day said Fountainhead is his favorite book. That’s a few extra points of respect for him.

Many thanks for the kind words. Publius and I finally decided to publish though Amazon. It's here:

Who Is John Galt?

It's actually quite a story, beating that thread of commentary into a book, a great experience for us both. It's best read chapter by chapter along with the parent work. When we wrote it we had no idea that events would turn AS from speculative fiction to what it has become.

My personal favorite part of the entire book is Jeff, the hobo's grim recitation of what happened to the 20th Century Motor Company, and why. I do not think there has ever been a better narrative of socialism in action and why it fails.

God, it was fun to write!

Yes, she did predict the result of altruism becoming the dominant philosophy of the West.

I was off in Vancouver on a 3-day Schubertiade with the Vancouver Recital Society, and I missed all the fun on this thread!
