Elections: If you listen to the leading candidates in both political parties these days, you’d think everything in this country is “rigged.” It’s a terrible message that simply excuses irresponsibility.

The article makes a valid point in that Trump’s language goes well beyond criticism of the GOP primary system. He’s essentially mimicking the classist, anti-business rhetoric of the left.

He did, but Madison came to see them as necessary. “Let faction check faction, ambition check ambition,” he wrote.

The problem is today neither “faction” checks the other. They are both the same “faction.”

Which is why we need a truly new, and different, “faction”-—to ensure Madison’s goal of checking the others.

In other words, Populism. Which frankly is what is going to be winning elections for the foreseeable future.

I sometimes think that the people who run for office should be chosen the same way that juries are chosen for jury duty. If it is good enough to vote on murder cases, it should be good for the rest.

Pick 16 people to run for president, eliminate maybe 4 based on mental health issues, etc, then give equal public funding to the remaining 12 running. No contributions.

Here’s Why Trump’s ‘Everything Is Rigged’ Talk Is So Alarming

It is alarming because it is true and has been hidden by the elites. If anyone thinks that our political system is honest then I have a bridge to sell you. One person one vote is the biggest joke on the American people that has ever been pulled.

Not only that, but if everyone is so sure the system is rigged, why have they ever bothered voting at all, for Trump, Reagan, or anyone else? Why do they care who wins the primary or the general election?

When Hilary is sworn in then you’ll understand.

Call it what you want. The fact remains that there is a process to achieve the Republican nomination for president. One candidate is showing an understanding of the process and one is not. One is whining about it and one is going about doing what needs to be done to secure the nomination. One organization is showing basic competence and one is failing.

“Trump is an exception, and it shows in the reaction of the press, the parties, etc. The GOP thought his candidacy would flame out, that he was no risk to the system of only allowing approved candidates to have a snowball’s chance in hell.”

Perhaps the GOP (establishment) have been pulling a massive con? Trump, with all his billions, can only be considered a part of the establishment.

Anyone who completed junior high should know that "one person one vote" was never an absolute principle - knowledge of the Electoral College and Senate should have revealed that.

Anyone who actually believed that fooled themselves.

The Rigged System is part of Trumps strategy. Even if it isn’t rigged, Trump would have to claim that it is since the story line that he is the only one standing up to the system is one of the major sources of supporters to his campaign.

If you want to understand Trump’s strategy and his pronouncements, go watch some of his appearances in WWE. You do realize he is a member of the WWE Hall of Fame? He’s acting just like a ring master at the WWE. Good guys standing up to those evil, scheming, and cheating other guys. His narrative is the same.

“Colorado didn’t change its rules to deny Trump. They changed their rules August 21, 2015.”

...just as Trump was moving into the lead.

It is rigged. On both sides of the aisle. If you’re part of the ruling class that must be alarming, as the spectre of pitchforks and hot lead surely cannot be far behind.

The Tea Party and Occupy movement are different sides of the same coin. The Bundy Ranchers and Black Lives Matter are different sides of the same coin.

The Elites have counted on "Divide and Conquer" being a winning strategy since the Bacon's Rebellion in Virginia scared the crap out of them. The idea of the people waking up scares the hell out of the Elites. That is why both parties try to co-op any popular movement in order to keep their corrupt system going.

‘One man, one vote’ was invented out of whole cloth by a liberal activist Supreme Court in the 1960s.

The Constitution specifically rejects it, and most states did likewise as part of their sovereignty. Original intent indeed!

Bingo. And the hands on that clock are ticking down pretty close to midnight.

Agreed. This article honestly has me rethinking about Trump in the general election. If he keeps sounding this much like Bernie, and trashing the GOP/helping Demicrats....

Maybe I'll write-in my dog.

The msm loves it when Elizabeth Warren says the system is rigged.

When Trump says it, he’s a whiney little bitch.

A very wise orthodox priest told me this country was being run by a judicial oligarchy, some 15 years ago.

I think you are both correct!

Trump is setting this up as a way for Democrats to "stick it to the GOP" by casting a vote for Trump.

I've noticed him signalling to Bernie voters for the past several days. He talks about how things are just as bad on the D side... how Bernie keeps winning state after state, but pundits say, "He can't win."

This "unfairness" aspect will resonate with some of those Bernie people who just want to shake up the system, especially the third or so of them who say they'll never vote for Hillary.

His tweeted support of the Colorado protest is aimed at a wider audience that just the GOPe. "Fighting the system that cheats voters" through demonstrations is an appeal to the Bernie clan.

We'll see if this continues in the next several weeks.
