The first time I heard Ray was late one night when he was talking about Paula Jones. He asked for a limerick. In a couple minutes, I was on the show with:
That Paula, he thought, was some filly
When pants dropped she thought him quite silly
But then later she’d file
And he soon lost his smile
He shouldn’t have whipped out ol’ Willy
That started the Polimericks and two Clinton limerick books. Each day Ray had a word of the day. Within just a couple minutes I would fax him a limerick that contained the word and he’d read it on the air.
I remember you were the limerick guy too. Too bad the rest of the nation didn’t get to listen to George and Ray. Old school radio guys like Bob Grant in NY. They ran rings around today’s blabbermouths like Rush, Levin and Beck.
