Word For The Day, Tuesday April 12, 2016
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
ossify [os-uh-fahy]
-vt
1. to convert into or cause to harden like bone
-vi
2. to become bone or harden like bone.
3. to become rigid or inflexible in habits, attitudes, opinions, etc.
[1705-15; < Latin ossi- (stem of os) bone + -fy]
Good morning!
I see the effects of ossifying brains around me after the sad results of our local elections a week ago.
The GOPe has ossified into something that regards the base as a nuisance to be circumvented rather than represented.
There was a thread on Twitter last night with Trump fans from NY complaining that they didn’t get to change parties to vote for him cause deadline was last October. New registrations can be done up to a month or so before the election, but if you want to change parties, you have to do it well in advance.
Makes sense to me, to cut down on shenanigans.
My favorite was the guy who said he called to check and that he is still allowed to vote Republican in the general.
awww the ignorance, it burns.
what’s the rule in PA on changing parties for the primary?
Hillary’s desperate to pacify
Bernie’s hard-leftists who classify
Her and Bill as war hawks
So she cackles and squawks
As what’s left of her brain starts to ossify
You can register (or change parties) up to a month before the election. True closed primary. No “independents” voting. No “same day” anything.
well that’s a blessing anyway.
love that! see, they KNOW!
Here’s a particularly bright bulb:
According to Brentwood officials, a man flagged down a patrol officer and said someone was trying to break into his home.
While investigating the house for any suspected burglars, police discovered the drugs, money and guns.
LOL!
whoaaaa.
It’s like they are throwing themselves at the police. LOL
LOL
LMAO. Without the shenanigans, Trump won’t be running away in NY. Cruz is in Binghamton on Friday.
