“as the Obama administration lobbied Congress for $1.9 billion to combat the mosquito-borne virus.”
All you need to know.
Gin up hysteria over a relatively harmless virus.
Get money.
Seems to me like someone - anyone - would recommend that no one who has been to a country where the virus was active be permitted to return to the U.S. Why do we keep letting people in the U.S. who carriers of all this krap? Seems to me like a lot of this could be stopped by bringing back the use of DDT.
Not only do we have the millions coming across the southern borders but we have all the Syrians coming in. Until all that is stopped we are going to have all kinds of previously eradicated illnesses erupt plus who knows what else. Good grief.
It would be easy to say this was an upcoming transfer of funds from the backs of our grandchildren to the vaccine makers (with possible kickbacks somewhere). It isn't as if the Government hasn't pulled some odd stuff with various diseases. (Refusal to impose travel restrictions over Ebola, for instance).
While this reeks of a potential manufactured crisis, the virus will also impact the Brazillian economy, and the hosting of the Olympics.
While this may be hype, it could have the added effect of hitting a BRIC nation where it hurts, when it hurts.
At the same time, if Zika or another agent is causing widespread brain damage, it would be good to know, and to avoid.
It is equally possible the virus is being used to provide cover for other agents which have done significant damage, known or unknown, natural or artificial.
Modern science has one flaw, namely that once an answer is found which can be hammered into the problem, no other possibilities are considered until it becomes obvious that that was not THE answer.
This was said about looking for fundamental scientific laws, but applies to so much else:
"In general we look for a new law by the following process. First we guess it. Then we compute the consequences of the guess to see what would be implied if this law that we guessed is right. Then we compare the result of the computation to nature, with experiment or experience, compare it directly with observation, to see if it works. If it disagrees with experiment it is wrong. In that simple statement is the key to science. It does not make any difference how beautiful your guess is. It does not make any difference how smart you are, who made the guess, or what his name is; if it disagrees with experiment it is wrong. That is all there is to it."
Richard Feynman
Unfortunately, the time between finding out that a hypothesis does not fit the evidence and empirical results and the disclosure of that discovery can be great. By then the money will be spent, the vaccine or A vaccine developed and distributed, and the damage done whether it be from the virus or vaccine, or from a different and uncredited causative agent.
I have more questions than answers. Something is causing people to suffer brain damage, myelin sheath damage and degredation, and microcephallic babies. That is worth paying attention to, and if the virus isn't the agent, that will become evident as virus infected populations are tracked.
The real disaster here is that all this could be controlled and the risk eliminated by using inexpensive.............DDT. But bullshit science once again will cost many human lives, which is just fine with the gaia worshippers who consider most humans(other than themselves) to be an an infection afflicting the Earth.
The money is for Big Pharma to create a mandatory vaccine to stop this public health program!! The vaccine has probably already been created and probably works in people the way Round-Up works in plants, very scary, human-gene-altering stuff. But the gov can justify using it in a public health crisis. Great side effects — population control via sterility if you take the vaccine, and via killing off babies or denying health care to those who have the virus. I know it is insomnia nightmare stuff but this is where the imagination goes with fascism!!!
Sorry but it is not relatively harmless. The money trail I agree with you. Never let a good crisis go to waste.
