Yep, it’s one of the very few shows I can stand. Well written, attractive characters, and virtually every episode has at least one or two overtly conservative themes, whether major or minor. Some very good 2nd amendment stuff, and also very pro religion. The show stands alone in these regards.
Too bad Allen went after Trump. I’ll still keep watching, though, under the “Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.” Good show, I’ll forgive them this blunder.
I dropped it on the season two premiere. It was during the 2012 election, and all the girls were for Obama. Until that point, I think the sister with the baby was reflexively liberal, with no real ideology, and the youngest leaned towards her daddy’s views. But, they got new writers who vowed a change of direction, and that episode had Tim trying to convince his wife to vote Romney and the girls trying to convince her to vote Obama. When the eldest said, “Obama’s pro-choice” and the mother answered, “Hallelujah!” I stopped watching.
I can enjoy things against my beliefs. I like the Continental Op, and Hammett was a damned communist. ;)
