If this is the case, they should do like they used to in SC for hogs; year long open season, no license/tag, any means.
Every state should do this on hogs.

They serve this in Jamaica. We went there last year for a week and it’s really good. They are a venomous fish with about 18 inch dorsal needle like fins- for protection.
We were out on a sail boat with a tour guide who showed us the fish and explained how venomous they were and if stung, very painful to humans, but not deadly.

I foresee an all you can eat zebra mussel restaurant. If you leave before you've eaten your fair share the host/bouncer will drag you back to your table like your mother did before you finish your brussels sprouts.

Only three more platefuls and you can leave.

Yes, Lionfish is Excellent!
Went scuba diving in Belize to do the Blue Hole dive.
On the Live aboard dive boat, our captain would stop by a cove or reef to spearfish these footlong+ very poisonous colorful fish.
Back aboard the boat, he’d cut off the deadly dorsal fins very carefully, fillet and cook it for us.
It was delicious sweet tender meat!
It’s now found in restaurant menus around the Carribean.
Lionfish population is now way down as a result of this effort.

Here in SW Pennsylvania they closed and drained some private fishing ponds in 84 PA. because there were Asian carp in the ponds. Maybe they would be good as fertilizer.

Now if we could only get Americans to eat bugs—fried grasshopers anyone?

I can’t verify it from personal experience, but I’ve heard that the invasive Snakehead is a very tasty fish.

No, but I have eaten Sea Bass, which is not bass, but is a hideously ugly fish. It’s delicious.
