Trump & Cruz will never get together. They have burnt too many bridges already. Besides, Canada born Cruz’s eligibility is an UNresolved question

“You’re under the mistaken assumption that delegates will be loyal. They won’t. They’ll go to the highest bidder.”

You’re under the mistaken assumption that all delegates are Judas. Understand this, Solson, that Cruz and Trump delegates can join together and pass a resolution to abolish the current rules committee and establish a new rules committee.

That simple resolution destroys the GOPe, and there isn’t squat that Karl Rove and his band of crony fascists can do about it.

Depends on the state. Some states bind delegate votes entirely, some make them unpledged if their candidate drops out with varying rules for what constitutes dropping out. No state or RNC rule binds delegates to the wishes of their candidate in any deal-making.

I believe you are incorrect about how first round ballots are recorded. Delegate votes are recorded without regard to whether the candidate’s name is placed in nomination. Thus Ron Paul’s 200 or so votes were recorded in 2012 and Carson and other votes will be recorded in 2016.

Well my understanding is different but I respect yours because I don’t know. But it is my understanding that you cannot vote for a candidate that is not placed in nomination. We will see. Thus only delegates voting for Trump can vote.
