Just to pick another example, evangelist Joyce Meyer gets as many people to come to her rallies as Trump gets to come to his, but she would never be able to obtain general support from the American people.

Political rallies are the ultimate form of cherry picking among general voters. If the rally attendees represent even 15% of the general voting population it would be a surprise.
